Founded in 1997 in the Silicon Valley, M Lab, Inc is a software development and consulting firm specializing in the multimedia video and audio technology. Through years’ core technology development and enhancement, M Lab has built up a strong competitive advantage in research and development and remains the leader in the video and audio codec technology.

M Lab is a provider of high quality digital video and audio codec software products including MPEG-2 HDTV Decoder,  MPEG-2 Decoder and other related multimedia applications. Its products and technology are widely used in many industries such as multimedia home devices, broadcasting, HDTV, DVR, PVR, surveillance systems and etc.

M Lab specializes in MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, AVC/H.264, AC-3, AAC, as well as DRM, streaming media, and other video and audio technologies. Since 1997, M Lab has provided its expertise and consulting services to numerous organizations ranging from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies.  Over the years the company has built up a solid client base and its services have been extended to the international market.

In 2005, M Lab is expanding its business into the PC DVD player market. M Lab DVD software is DXVA enabled, and provides high quality and high speed playback of MPEG2  video streams based on M Lab MPEG-2 Video Decoder engine. It is widely respected for its fast speed and superior image quality and reliability.

M Lab stays abreast of its evolving market by continuing intense research and development efforts. Its next generation decoder product series H.264 and MPEG-4 are currently at the pre-alpha stage and will be launched in the first quarter of 2006.

By remaining small, lean and yet technology-focused, M Lab is able to maintain its competitive advantage over its competitors through lower costs. These cost savings are passed on to M Lab's customers, allowing them to enjoy superior products at much lower prices.

  M Lab MPEG-2 HDTV decoder is an ideal software-only, cost effective solution to the promising HDTV and Satellite TV markets. With key features such as Push and Pull Mode Streaming, Auto Resynchronization, Improved Error Resilience incorporated, M Lab HDTV decoder has demonstrated extremely reliable capability in decoding and delivering HDTV-format content.   M Lab is the first company in the industry who offers source code license for the fully optimized (MMX/SSE/SSE2) and DXVA enabled MPEG2 decoder product.
